Kelvin Kotchilea
Northwest Territores
Kelvin Kotchilea
Kelvin is a champion for Northerners. A proud Tlicho man from Behchoko, he’s fought to make our communities better for everyday people. He works with the Government of Northwest Territories to help protect our natural resources and deliver better education and employment opportunities for families.
Growing up in a small community, Kelvin knows that successive Liberal and Conservative governments in Ottawa have left Northerners behind. He understands that it’s time to give people in the Northwest Territories a greater say in the decisions that impact us. After years of let downs and broken promises, Kelvin will ensure the federal government is working for us.
Through northern-made solutions and investments in local infrastructure and good local services, Kelvin will help to address the housing crisis in our communities and tackle climate emergency. He knows our healthcare system should be truly universal and include prescription medication, dental care, vision care, and mental health services. He’s ready to make sure Ottawa works collaboratively, and effectively, with the GNWT, Indigenous communities, and local administrations, to get more help to you.
As a proud member of the Tlicho Nation, Kelvin remains active in his community. He’s passionate about maintaining traditional practice such as Dene hand games, travelling on the land, and hunting to provide for his family. He knows that we must continue to practice these traditions, which have been carried out in the North for generations.
Kelvin will be a strong, Indigenous voice in Ottawa. He’ll make sure the federal government is delivering on meaningful reconciliation, better health care, and safe housing for Indigenous communities.
Kelvin knows that we need someone in Ottawa to fight for the Northwest Territories and demand positive change. He’s ready to stand up for future generations by tackling the climate crisis with bold emissions reductions targets and good, sustainable jobs. Kelvin believes that there is a better way forward for our communities. He’s ready to listen, and fight for you as your Member of Parliament.
